Avanti has completed her Masters in Computer Science from Columbia University in New York City.
Currently, Avanti is a Staff Software Engineer in Google, working in the company since 2016. She is working in Google Ads where she works on algorithms and Machine Learning models which power the Ads ecosystem.
Aside from this, she also has been teaching Machine Learning courses at Google to Googlers who want to be familiar with this area. These ML courses are 3 day courses and have an audience of 90+ students aimed to give engineers a good overview and hands-on experience of building ML models and familiarize them with different algorithms in this space.
Prior to Google, she worked at PayPal where she was building models for Fraud detection. Today’s world is at a helm of a change with Gen AI and she enjoys being part of this innovative time for Ads.

Akhil is Avanti’s 11 year old son. When he was in 3rd grade, he encouraged his Mom to create a Machine Learning course and teach it at his school. It was not common to teach 8-9 year olds about Classification, Regression problems and know about the best evaluation metrics to choose between models.
However, together with his mom, he built content which was engaging and yet informative for his classmates. The course was a huge success. That was the beginning of AI Youngsters.
He plays an important role to impart a vision for this course which is designed to be fun and educational at the same time.
